Board Information

The Kansas Board of Cosmetology is a state agency composed of governor-appointed members who represent licensed professionals and the public.

Board Authority

The board operates under the Kansas Cosmetology Act (K.S.A. 65-1901 et seq.) and enforces state regulations for the cosmetology industry.

Board Composition

Seven members appointed by the Governor: five licensed professionals, one school representative, and one public member.

Meeting Schedule

The board meets regularly throughout the year. All meetings are open to the public in accordance with the Kansas Open Meetings Act.
